California Coastal Commission to Hold Habitat Restoration Workshop at City of
Long Beach District 3 Field Office near Colorado Lagoon
What:
Digging In: A Guide to Community-Based Habitat Restoration gives local volunteers,
concerned citizens, and grassroots organizations the tools and information they
need to get a habitat restoration program up and running. Attendants receive a free
copy of Digging In and a networking contact list. The basics of restoration, including
the development of simple coastal restoration projects and community engagement
strategies-- as well as common pitfalls-- will be discussed.
When:
Thursday, May 14, from 1pm to 5pm. Restoration site tour will follow workshop.
Where:
The conference room at the City of Long Beach District 3 Field Office, 340 Nieto
Avenue Long Beach, California 90814. This office is adjacent to the Colorado Lagoon
Restoration area.
